We follow the principles of a non-directed and student-led education
that allows children to make their own experiences by freely choosing
activities.
If a child or a group of children requests it, special courses to
specific topics can be offered. In the past, we had history groups,
mathematics groups, writing, reading, and craft groups. These courses
generally are six to ten weeks long and participation is voluntary.
The kindertagesstaette (kindergarden - pre-scool)
Children aged from three to seven years attend our kindertagesstaette.
The kindertagesstaette is accredited by the Schweizerischer Krippenverband
SKV (Swiss association of nursery schools). All our staff are qualified
kindergarten teachers; we also have two apprentices and an intern
on our team.
Children in our kindertagesstaette move freely within a prepared
environment. The rooms are decorated and equipped appropriately
for the level of development and the needs of our pre-schoolers.
The rooms cover such topics as skills of daily living (cleaning
shoes, washing hands, etc.), sensory perception (smell, taste, tactile,
etc.), mathematics, languages, music, movement, role-play, puppets,
and many more.
The children can choose their activities freely and also decide
whether they want to play on their own or with others.
